Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Through “Education and Faith”
How Changing A Destiny was born…
In 2017, I met little Raymond in an orphanage at the age of 6 months. He was found in the trash with his umbilical cord still attached…why does this happen in Kenya? It’s a lack of education, lack of knowing our Jesus & no money for food.

Let me tell you more…
Why did God put this poverty on the hearts of two women from two different continents that just meet each other?
After Nicole and her husband Tom adopted Raymond in 2017. God asked us to help more children like Raymond.
Today Raymond is 8 years old! He is healthy speaks Swahili and English!
Changing A Destiny is educating the young children and teaching the youth about Jesus, we are building steppingstones to break the cycle of poverty in our village.
In our community, it is very rare for girls to attend school and receive an education. Many are “married off” to older men for money so their families can afford food for their siblings. Too often, these young girls become pregnant, are abandoned, and end up on the streets with no support. They can’t go home until the babies are gone.
This is how we found baby Raymond… Stories like his remind us why education and compassion are so important through Changing A Destiny.
By educating our children, giving them a strong foundation, and teaching them valuable skills, we can end the heartbreaking cycle of abandoned babies and poverty in our village.
Changing A Destiny Academy is currently educating children from the age of 5 up to 12-year-olds (sixth grade). We hope to expand to 9th with a junior high school soon. The children are more liking to continue their education if they are in the same school until they go to boarding high school.
We are also empowering the uneducated youth women to become assets to their community through education, faith, and opportunity through our NEW
vocational school. They are more likely to NOT fall into the early marriages.
Thank you to Southbrook and Pastor Carson for helping us get the word out about this need. The $1,000 goal to help our youth in Kenya would be amazing.
Mathew 7:7
“Ask and it will be given, Seek and you will find, Knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Changing A Destiny is praying this prayer to our God and asking you to be used by our God to help us OPEN more doors.
